Fred Goodwin is an amazing pastor. Intellectual and warm. A sharp wit. He isn't into fudamentalism or identity politics. Instead, he focuses on what the scriptures say, how Jesus lived, and what that means for us when we are being honest with ourselves. The church itself is cozy and pastoral, sitting on many acres of land. The church sometimes invites parishioners to camp-outs on the pastures (and this is awesome with little kids--there's a kitchen and bathroom a few dozen feet away). The yearly Trunk or Treat Halloween event is awesome! Members turn their cars into miniature drive-thrus and petting zoos. Finally I will say that it amazes me how much this church does for the community: helping refugees, building houses, helping each other out with home projects. This is a great church for families who want to know the scriptures deeply in a simple, relaxed environment.
My wife, son and I love the warm family atmosphere that Church of the Messiah provides. Pastor Fred Goodwin is a godly, bible-based leader that you won't find at most other churches. The picture below is Pastor Fred carrying our son around during the Christmas service 2016.
Finally found you on youtube and was thrilled to hear you teach Jesus. I still have wonderful memories and continue to grow through my own studies that you assisted me with years ago. God Bless you and Jill and the family both immediate and community.
